What an Atheist believes

Atheism is defined as the lack of belief in gods or deities. It is not necessarily a belief that gods do not exist; rather, it is a rejection of the assertion that any gods exist. This distinction is crucial, as many atheists do not actively claim that no gods exist but simply do not hold a belief in them.

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."

Pride of the intellect:

Maybe I should not say "smart" people, but instead use "intellectual" people, for example teachers, college professors, etc. Because many of the smartest people who ever lived did believe in God, and in fact the current record holder for the worlds smartest person (YoungHoon Kim - IQ 276) is a firm believer in Christianity, and in fact has his own YouTube channel explaining why he believes. Smart, highly analytical people can more easily come up with clever arguments and explanations to JUSTIFY staying independent and not having to obey or submit to a higher power (like God) and his commandments.

Believing in God often requires humility, trust, and being willing to accept things on faith—even when there isn’t full proof—which people who think very logically and critically might find hard to do. But I believe this is also somewhat due to peer pressure, as there are "proofs" out there if people are willing to have an open mind, something this website is trying to show. Due to pride, many will not explore the bible, and question established scientific beliefs that they have been taught all their lives, even though all of these scientific beliefs are now failing under closer scrutiny. In fact, there is real bias in scientific communities and academia:

  • Surveys of biology graduate students and professors show many perceive discrimination against Christians, with some reporting hostile remarks or feeling pressure to conceal their faith.

  • One study found 43% of Protestant biologists reported workplace discrimination due to religion.

  • Faculty surveys indicate that roughly half of academics would be less likely to hire an evangelical candidate (more so than for some other minority groups in certain contexts).

  • Christians in science often report stereotype threat—feeling judged as less competent in science due to their beliefs, especially if openly creationist.
